Course Overview
This course is designed for Responsible Persons (RPs), prospective RPs and Licence Holders. It covers the principles of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) as outlined in the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 and the role of the RP in ensuring compliance with these principles. The course is officially recognised by the MHRA and accredited by Cogent Skills as meeting the requirements of the ‘Gold Standard’ competency framework for RPs.
Key Learning Objectives
- Understand the legislation and licensing requirements for the wholesale distribution of medicinal products, the roles and responsibilities of the RP and the importance of patient and product user safety.
- Understand the roles of the Competent Authority, National Organisations and aspects of the European Pharmaceutical directives and guidelines in relation to the supply of medicines and GDP
- Understand the importance of the QMS and the implementation of an effective quality compliance system
- Understand the different types of medicinal products, legal categories and storage conditions and how GDP is essential in maintaining their quality and integrity
